IIT Guwahati has released the detailed GATE 2026 exam schedule, confirming that the examination will be conducted on 7, 8, 14, and 15 February 2026 in computer-based mode. The official timetable provides the complete list of paper-wise dates, session timings, and slot allocations for all 30 subjects.
GATE 2026 is being organized by IIT Guwahati on behalf of the National Coordination Board–GATE, Ministry of Education. Registration for the exam began on 28 August 2025. Candidates can now check their paper code, exam date, and session through the official schedule available on the GATE website.
GATE 2026 Exam Dates and Timings
The exam will take place over four days, with two sessions each day:
- Forenoon Session: 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
- Afternoon Session: 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm

GATE 2026 Admit Card and Exam Centre Information
The GATE 2026 admit cards will be released on the official website. Candidates must download their hall ticket and carefully verify all details, including their name, photograph, paper code, exam date, session, and examination centre.
The admit card will clearly mention the complete exam centre address, and candidates are advised to reach the venue at least one hour before the exam begins. Entry to the exam hall will be permitted only upon presenting a valid admit card along with a government-issued photo ID.
GATE 2026 will be conducted entirely in computer-based mode. Candidates must use the virtual calculator provided on the exam screen, as mobile phones, personal calculators, and other electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
All examinees are required to follow the security procedures and exam-day instructions issued by the authorities. Any non-compliance may lead to the cancellation of candidature.
